Guy
Gentile
Professional day trader, entrepreneur and author. Thirty-plus years on the tape, four published books, and one straight answer to every question people search for.

Guy Gentile is an American professional day trader, entrepreneur and author who has spent more than three decades actively trading the U.S. equity markets. He is widely known online as The Stock Operator — a nod to the trading classic he grew up on — and is the author of four books published on Amazon.
His trading is built on momentum and the short side: identifying overextended small-cap moves, sizing them properly, and cutting them fast when the tape disagrees. He is not an activist short seller and does not publish research reports on companies. His public work is about method and discipline, not calls.

Career timeline
Mount Vernon to Manhattan
Guy Gentile starts trading as a teenager and walks into a Manhattan proprietary trading firm, learning to read Level 2 and order flow before he learns to read people.
Prop desks and technology
Builds and runs trading operations, writes and commissions execution technology, and moves into high-frequency and direct-access brokerage.
Brokerage and the federal years
Founds an offshore direct-access broker-dealer that clears substantial institutional order flow. Cooperates with federal authorities for 31 months, is later indicted, and after nine years is acquitted by a Miami jury.
Back on the tape — and in print
Returns to full-time trading and publishes four books on trading, money and his own story, all available on Amazon.
The public record
Guy's career includes a long and public run-in with U.S. and Bahamian regulators, and he has never hidden from it — he wrote a book about it. For the record: he has never been convicted of a crime, and a Miami federal jury acquitted him in less than a day. He tells the full story, including the parts regulators leave out, in Bro, I'm Going Rogue and The Stock Operator. A plain-language summary of every case, in order, is on the public record page.
